What colour is your parachute?

Bring a parachute out if you want to see kids so crazy with excitement! They love the colours, the movement and the unpredictability of it all.
I had to post this picture of sheer delight from my 15 month old (and his big sis crouching down for a minute) under the giant parachute at the momstown Winter Wonderland Party this week. Okay ... perhaps parachutes aren't directly related to glistening snow and sparkles - but man, did they LOVE it!
Yes, decision made, every single momstown site needs a giant parachute for each circle time. Done.
Can't wait! :)

We're Growing!!!!!

Emily (Aurora) with baby Madison
Julie (Newmarket) with snoozy Finn & Christa (KW)

Everyday my daughter asks "am I growing today?". It starts early this wish to grow and I think even after we've all grown up we still look forward to the new adventures that growth brings.

And momstown is GROWING!!!

We're in the midst of opening 3 brand new chapters and our teams have already started and are busy planning their launches in March.

A big, huge welcome to our great new team!!!

Guelph: Elisa Ingram & Melissa Katerenchuk
Kitchener-Waterloo: Christa Mackinnon
Newmarket-Aurora: Emily Dimmel & Julie Vokey

momstown is also growing by adding NEW BABIES!!! (update!)
Founding momstown mama Christi gave birth to baby Safiya Maliaka on Feb 25th!
Our Guelph Community Manager, Melissa, brought baby boy Jordan Jesse into the world Feb 28th!
Wow - new babies, is there anything better than that???

Crafty Corner: It's a Winter Wonderland

It's pretty out there right now - sun shining and glistening white snow but it's darn freezing out there! Really freezing! Yes, I think my kids should get a bit of fresh air but I don't want to head out there myself let along freeze their toes off!

So, last week I got a little resourceful. Home bound both by the cold temperatures and also the flu bug was running through our family, we were all going a bit nutty. Based on everyone's moods at 8:30am I knew we were in for a long day... so I put on my creative hat -- and did what no one expected!

I brought the snow INSIDE!

Yep, and the kids loooooved it. It wasn't packing snow outside but once it hit our warm kitchen the snow turned to great packing snow. My daughter loved makinm snow "cakes" and "icing" them for fun. My one year old son had fun with the chilly sensory activity. They played for almost an hour - with many refills for melting snow - and made me a convert. We will definately be doing this again!

Winter can somes feel bleak but it's a true cause for celebration too. In these chilly days we need some fun to pick us up! momstown communities are all holding "Winter Wonderland" parties this month to celebrate beautiful snowflakes and icy tempatures.
